Best magazine for new owner or prospective purchaser

Hmmm, don't wish to cause any problems with criticising particular publications but, I am looking to buy either an old Series Landy or a Classic style Rangy. Which is the best mag to get me genned up? Not really interested in rockscramblin'diffbreakin'tropicalrainforestin' stuff, more the practical info.
