The MGW of my 4.4 Vogue L322 is 3050kg, meaning I cannot drive across Marlow Bridge!
Same for Disco 3 (3230kg) and RRS Supercharged (3125kg) amongst others...

I'd have thought the laden mass of your Disco 3 would be a lot higher than that; I am sure I have read that the kerb mass of these new Discos is 2700kg - the Euro NCAP website puts it at about this figure +/- 100kg but the LR website doesn't mention it. I am amazed at how much the weight of these cars is creeping up - how do they manage to make them so heavy? The first Range Rovers weighed in around the 1800kg mark - is the weight gained all to do with extra safety and comfort?
There is a bridge across the River Wye near Boughrood that has a weight limit, it is a suspension bridge with timber planks as a deck - it is a long way to the river below, I wouldn't fancy having the planks give way on that bridge!

Guess it depends on how much fuel I have in the tank, but normally c.2750kg as described. Not sure about the accuracy of the bridge though!
The D3 has an odd double chassis set up, 7 full size seats, 2 A/C compressors, all the 4wd trickery, countless airbags, huge hi-fi etc. etc. etc. On the road it handles & rides amazingly well, so good infact that I now choice to use it as my "business" car. It's a very relaxing drive.
I do take it off-road, but so far only on fields & farm tracks. Having seen video clips of what It's capable of though, it really is a "proper" Land Rover.

The GVW of a D3 is 3230kg, which is the weight they are going off, not what yours weighs with lots of stuff in it.
I often wonder if they ever bother enforcing the 3ton weight limit on the outside lane at the start of the M11 at Redbribge.

As from above link. EEC Kerb Weight (includes fluids, tools, spare wheel & 75kg driver) for TDV6 Auto. is Max. 2718kg.
That's about right, as I'm c.115kg, my 8 yr old daughter is skinny as is my dog & I'd probably have about 0.5 of a tank of diesel. So pre wood purchase of c.2750kg can't be too far off.

Kerb wieght is different to Gross vehicle weight.
Well should I ever want to drive over Marlow bridge in my D3, I'd argue strongly that unless I was loaded up with passengers etc. that my D3 weighs less than 3 tons, because it does!

you can argue all you like(traffic police love arguers believe me) they'll read the GVW off the plate and nick you -it's not worth the risk TS10 and three points on your licence plus the fine of course

Not saying that it would get me across the bridge, but I'd still argue for a common sense approach with an unloaded car or pick up truck. This is the kerb weight, add a bit for my extra weight, add a bit for my map, sunglasses, torch etc. etc. Look at the empty rear seats, look at the empty boot. Do you agree that it weighs less than 3 tons?
