Disco 200tdi engine temperature

Could another 200tdi owner let me know how far the temp gauge needle goes up please, under normal conditions. Mine seems to be running cold, the needle not even reaching quarter way up the gauge. I suspect the thermostat needs replacing but not had chance to look at yet.

Same thing on my 300 TDI.

Mine doesn't get to the first mark at the moment and in hot weather may run just to the right of it. The only time I see it near or at half way is if I am towing, pulling up a hill and it is very hot weather.

Thanks, that puts my mind at rest. I'm sure the handbook says it should be about halfway at running temp, but your replies are good enough for me!
