My 2005 Freelander TD4 Sport is going in for 24k/2-yr service this Friday (£400 - and that after I expressed surprise at original £475 quoted!?!). Trouble is, I also know the front pads need replacing, and don't have any time before Friday to do them - am I better dropping car at say Kwikfit for pad replacemenht before Friday, or just letting LandRover replace them on Friday (which I assume they'll insist on doing if they're shot) and sting me for another £????

Our local dealer wanted an extra £125 to replace the front pads on my missus's '04 TD4. Bear in mind the car was already there having a 24k mile service so the car was already on a ramp.....

We politely declined their offer.

Useful info thanks. Have just rang Kwikfit and they quoted £65 for front pads, with lifetime guarantee - ie even if they wear out again as long as I own vehicle they will replace them again without charge. Sounds like a good deal to me
