Range Rover reliability
Discussion
Hi, I had 2003 Range rover vogue for a year, beautiful car to drive and not to thirsty, BUT, it seemed to spend more time at the dealers than on the road, nothing major just niggly electrical problems, such as engine management light kept coming on, windscreen wipers would just stop for no reason in torrential rain [very scary]never did get to the bottom of that one! Anyway I would still recommend one, but see if you can get a warranty. by the way mine had only 24k on it.
Very hit and miss. Some can be nothing but trouble, and others perfect.
They're not famed for their reliability but because it's such a mixed bag it's often hard to seperate what will be trouble free from what will be troublesome.
I've done a 2 day desert rally in one which was perfect all the way despite the serious high revving sand filled abuse it was getting, whereas my mates went back to the dealers the day he picked it up for an engine managment light.
They are great though

Unless you like to gamble buy one with at least some Land Rover warranty remaining. Personally I would not run one outside of the warranty period, make no mistake they are not cheap to run! Realistically they are no better or worse than many other cars its just that the specification is so huge that there are more things to go wrong and when they do it is generally expensive to fix.
