Please could someone shed some light on this one.
My 200tdi Disco seems to have developed an intermittently working brake servo. Being into classic cars I'm no expert on diesels, and I've only had the Disco about a month, but having looked at it I can't see any split pipes, so am wondering if thats a vacuum pump I can see on the side of the engine. Is it possible this could be causing the problem? Both sound expensive but I reckon the pump is probably cheaper than the servo?

Could be the pump, also have a look at the plastic port on the servo, I think this is a non-return valve, they are cheap and easy to replace - hence a good place to start.

good luck,

Thanks, I've checked it and it seems ok, but problem is extremely intermittent so I'll see how it goes.
