MOT man says cracked spring so ordered new ones from Paddock yesterday afternoon and they arrived this afternoon and ended up costing less than the online order form implied so a well done for them.

Now the confusing bit. The springs are different part numbers NCR8044 Drivers side 8045 Passenger side. One is shorter than the other and has yellow lines painted down it and the longer one has white lines. They both have the same number of coils and the same gauge wire.

Question...Which is which and why?

Will phone them and get an answer in the morning but wondered if anyone knew.

This is a landy thing thumbup Longer spring goes on drivers side to compensate for drivers weight.
If you're the size of Nervy these things matter . Did you get new turret rings? They always break when you don't want them torolleyes

I guessed it may be that by the way they described them as driver/passenger.

Only bought the springs.
Is the ring up at the turret? Haynes implies I can just drop the axle and slide the springs out (with compressors) so was not expecting to disturb the turret.

All done.
Jack up and stands on chassis.
Undo nut on bottom of shock.
Small amount of tension on spring compressors.
Slide shock up in itself.
Slide spring out.

Both sides done in 2 hours including cups of coffee.
