Afternoon Guys,

I wonder if you can help (I hope this hasnt been done to death but I couldnt find some of the answers I was looking for on a search)-

I am thinking of buying a 90/110 station wagon TD5, and have £5 - £10k to play with, is this going to be enough for a decent defender? Is a TD5 that much better than a 300Tdi?

Has anyone had any dealings with landroverman? His site seems to provide details of 'more than the average' defenders with lots of checks etc. Are there any other reliable outlets in the UK? I live in Jersey but am coming over to England for a few days and wanted to hunt around a bit.

Any help very much appreciated.

Thanks

Td5 is more powerful than the TDI. Very reliable (although if it does break you will need a specialist)

You should get something on w/x/y plate I would have thought for that sort of money. SW's are a bit more than H-tops or P-ups.

look for decent servicing, a careful owner, and not too much evidence of severe off road abuse!

I've been to landroverman once or twice when looking for 110 stationwagons - he had a good selection, but they were all more than I wanted to spend at the time. You could try looking at www.landroversuk.com - they're in relatively the same area as landroverman. Although, most of their stock doesn't seem to be on the website so might be worth giving them a call.

Thanks very much for your help, will give landroversuk a call in the morning.

Looks like I may have to re-think my budget.

I am actually going to London, Birmingham and Leeds, so if anyone can recommend a reliable sales outlet in those areas I would be grateful...

I bought mine from Landroverman, they're a nice bunch of guys and tend to have ex-utility vehicles. I was very happy with mine, but did pay full wack.
