Dont know if anyone can help. the PDC on my 02 RR HSE has decided to stop working. The light beside the button flashes when pressed and I can hear the beep (on constant) for a few moments - then nothing?

Cheers

Have you used a pressure washer or possibly given the sensors a light tap? I went through a boggy ditch in France a few years ago in my old diesel and the parking sensors got caked, didn't want to work until they were replaced.

The last time it was cleaned was when it went to Guy Salmon to have a new steering column put in!! I looked through the manual and it describes the fault (a long constent tone and flashing light) but it says to call the dealer - which I've done but they've not called back?

Has anyone else experienced something similar?

Hi gazm, the long tone and flashing light for the PDC is obviously telling you there is a fault. The most common things that cause this are dirty sensors, a damaged sensor (some times they just go bad), a sensor that isn't plugged in, sensors that have been repainted and the paint is too thick. If you can't find the problem with a simple visual inspection then your next step would be to get the diagnostic trouble codes read at a dealer or private garage.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

I have the same problem on my freelander now. And the dealer has already replaced mine twice before(when asked they simply had no idea)! I'm waiting for my next service now which will be sometime in the May.

Oh, it was under the warranty. Otherwise, I can't imagine the cost. Coz I have the painted body styling kits on my Freelander. So they had to take the kits apart before doing any repair/replacement. And afterwards the rear part of bodykits(and the body panels they were attached on) needed to be repainted. So that's why I want it to be done with the service (it take best part of week to replace the sensor. Forget about the parts, just imagine the labour costs).
