Hi all, I need to replace both upstream o2 sensors and wondered if any one could tell me what size the wrench flats are on them? I need to get a socket.

Also I'm assuming because the Rover V8 started life as a General Motors product, bank 2 is the right side of the block from the driver's seat?

Thank You.

Hi, a socket will not work on the oxygen sensor due to the wiring coming out of the top.
Use a SPANNER. It should be around the same size as your spark plug, depending on whether you are fitting a genuine or non genuine sensor.

Hi p100, they make special o2 sensor sockets that have a small gap running up one side for the wires to pass through.

Hi, yes I know about these but in my experience they are rarely needed.I have always been successful with a spanner.
If you are not going to use one every week use a spanner. My toolbox is littered with such oddities.
Good Luck
Cheers Roy

I tried one of those sockets with the hole in the side and it kept slipping off.
Just cut the lead of and use a ring spanner. I used 22mm ring spanner i believe.
