I have recently bought a K'reg Land Rover Defender 110 2.5TDi.

I think it has the standard wheels with off-road tyres and I want to put some wheels with road tyres on, whilst keeping the original wheels and off-road tyres.

Any ideas where the best/cheapest way of getting some wheels (I don't mind if alloys) and tyres from and if I am looking at buying some wheels off ebay from an old Range Rover/Discovery/etc what ages fit what?

Any help greatly appreciated!!

New genuine wheels and others are so cheap from Paddocks with free carrage that I wouldn't bother buying second hand.

If you are using them solely on the road it pays to have straight wheels

I have a set of Classic Range Rover alloys yoy can have for £40,the newer Defender/ Disco alloy wheels won't fit unless you change the front hubs to the latter 300 type.

I don't think the three spoke Range Rover alloys fit the Salisbury axle without modification, the outer hub fouls the wheel centre.

Backs are no problem, its the fronts that don't go on,the bolts on the hub hit the wheel.I did try grinding the bolts down, but the front hubs started coming off!.This was on an H reg 200tdi 110 using freestyle alloys.
