Around 2003, I was in Cyprus and I saw a (then current shape) RHD Defender convertible; 4 seater in the "90" wheelbase.
Did LR ever produce a convertible Defender, or was it just a custom jobby? I remember it looked bloody nice in bright red, with black bucket seats! lick

You've always been able to order a 90 as a full soft top or convert a hardtop/truckcab to one very simply. The first 'posh' cabrio type LR did was a one-off called the Cariba and then a production one called the SV90 IIRC in a turquoise colour around 1993.

If you want to convert a 90 yourself, have a look at:

http://www.allwheeltrim.co.uk/LR-Mohair.html

Or if you want it doing for you:

http://www.neneoverland.co.uk/ and click on 'Extreme Softtop' on the left hand side.

Land Rover produced the SV90 in 1993 thats about the only true spirit soft top Landy. You can buy Landy with full tilts though and are quite commmon but the SV90 was the only real lesuire one very similar to the NAS spec 90 but with a 200tdi and available here.
