Has anybody suffered a break in to a locked Freelander, without showing any signs of forced entry?
If so, how did you resolve any claim with the insurers

My father had a lot of electrical gear (laptop, GPS, camera etc etc) nicked and swears he locked the car, but the insurers will not cough up.

If you would prefer, PM me through my profile, as security is not an issue that is best discussed in open.

Thanks for your help.

I am familiar with the freelander security, and as far as I know the only recorded thefts have been through the scumbags getting hold of the spare key and fob.
As the security system uses a random rolling code, it is unlikely that a code grabber has been used to gain entry.
If the car has been entered by force or jiggling the alarm will have been triggered and it possible, with the right equipment to view this.
The security ECU contains a memory that records the alarm triggers.

Email me directly if you need some more help.
