We have just bought a 2000 (W) Freelander for the Missus, and when we got back to to it this afternoon I found a water stain under it. After a bit of a look I found that a pipe from the bulk head above the front cross member was dripping onto the cross member then onto the floor.

Does anyone have any idea what it could be, as it is covered by a warranty I would like to get it soretd ASAP

Thanks for any help

Does the car have air conditioning? If so, it could just be the system getting rid of the condensed water, all perfectly normal and happens to every air con equipped car.

Thanks for the reply, yes it does have AC but it had not been running whilst sitting in the carpark, my other cars do it but only when the engine is running.

It is an open ended pipe with a 'flappy thing on the end' (technical term!!) which goes through the bulkhead, so as you say I guess just a drain tube

Would be worth keeping an eye on it to see if it continues.
The heater matrix and AC condensor may share a housing in which case your drip may be a leak from the heater.
