Hi,

Disco 2 TD5 is getting engine surge on gear changes? Does anyone have experience of this, I think the ECU has an anti surge system built into it, any ideas why this might be happening?

Thanks

Have a bit more info on this, it's not surging. when you take your foot off the acc ped to change gear there is a delay before the revs drop off.
Could this be linked to the wastegate? Any ideas?

Is there a delay when you press the throttle as well as release it?

Is the cable or linkage sticking?

Aren't Td5's fly by wire?

Hi, take off the battery cover (if its a discovery) and have look down the side of the engine ecu with a torch.
If you can see oil down by the red plug thats connected to the ecu then that could be your trouble.
Engine oil travels along the wiring harness when the seal fails on the injector harness, then gets into the engine ecu causing a load of troublesome faults.
Its worth checking the wastegate but this is quite rare to have the wastegate stuck.

Cheers
