Had an old P38 4.6 and the fuel usage was crazy, sold that and got a Passat that broke down.

So now iv splashed out on a mk3 HSE:

Plans:

Towbar
20" 7 spoke LR alloys or the stormer style
Mudflaps
stainless side protector tube
clear lights all round

Needs some paint on the front bumper and the lock on the front passenger door sticks but other than that its good all over.

Nice onethumbupDiesel i take it?? Just make sure you have a substantial back up fund for when things go wrong.A lot more expensive to maintain than your previous P38.Read my post in the (door lock not working L322)thread.

if you mean this thread http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?h=0...

its a different issue, the handle is fine on the outside but when you unlock the car the passenger lock doesnt always move fully, can see the door pin move but it doesnt go all the way so a lock and unlock usually does the trick

probably nothing i can do as i dont wanna take the door card off

Sweet ride.

Buy the 20' seven spokes. Stick to what should go with the car.

LR recommend that you dont buy 20's however if thats a diesel.

I would join LR assist, £175 per year and worth every penny.

Nice car, i still love mine after 4 years of ownership.

I think the reason they say not to fit 20" wheels on the diesel is due to some weird vibration issues. More info here
