Classic Range Rover V8 - Auto Box Problem

Afernoon all,

A slight problem with the auto box on my V8 occured at the weekend.

Seems she doesnt pull off if you put her in drive!? But drives fine if you clip her into 1st, 2nd, or 3rd!?

As soon as you are rolling - i.e above 10mph, she picks up the drive and you can clip it in drive and the box works fine.

Any ideas?

Almost as if the selector has become misaligned for picking up 1st when in drive...

By the looks of things its a box out job.Sounds like the Torque convertor.I'm going through the same process at the moment with the Corvette,with exactly the same symptoms you have.
