freelander versus x-trail secondhand

Have 54 diesel X-trail and now its not being serviced by supplying dealer is proving reliable(new intercooler, turbo, wheels etc). Quite fancy new Freelander and are there any reliabilty issues?

Our Freelander 2 has been faultless from new. The X trail was the alternative and whilst it wasn't bad at what it does by any stretch, the freelander felt the much nicer car to drive and (shock horror for an LR) feels very well nailed together. Inside it's a lovely place to be and it's a far cry from freelanders of old

Freelander 2 seems to be very good. Also suprisingly competent offroad.
