I picked up my new (to me) 07 Vogue SE.
Was well worth the wait. I remember driving the TDV8 when they were first released and wanted to buy one there and then. But i put my sensible cap on and decided that £72k for the car i wanted was just being silly, so i got myself TD6 which was great, no complaints at all. Engine was a bit flat, but as i said before you don't get a Range Rover to race so what it has is more than enough.
So now values have come right down on the TDV8 i decided to have a look around, i knew exactly what i wanted, and those that know me from the Porscshe forum will know i wont accept anything that is not exactly what i want or not in 1st class condition. My local dealer in Cardiff had a very nice 08 Vogue SE so after they appraised my car for the PX the salesman said he would come back to me with some figures on cost to change. The guy never called me back, so i wasn't going to chase him so i could spend £50k with him.
I had a look on the internet and Hunters in Derby had one up there on an 07 plate. Exactly the spec i was looking for and the cheapest main dealer Vogue SE in the country, so a quick call to them and the wheels were set in motion. So now i have my black with Jet/Jet Vogue SE TDV8 My TD6 was good but the TDV8's are just amazing, i am so glad i waited a year or so as the depreciation on a new one would make me cry like a baby. Still i have had a (bargain) and i am glad someone else took the big sting for me. A couple of pics for whoring purposes below.
It has the S/C grill and side vents the chrome mirror covers, side steps and all the usual toys that the 07 Vogue SE's came with. Interesting to hear that for 08 onwards rear entertainment is now a cost option at £2400 along with 4 zone climate. They were both standard trim on the MY07 Vogue SE

I was interested in the last postings as im due to purchase any time now, probably a very similar model, 06 or 07 RR Vogue.
The Google finds it but then the actual car details has been removed from the page the search finds, I would however be very interested to know the figures and also how you needed to negociate t get the deal, by all means pm me if prefered.
Thanks

I think it depends very much how the dealer is doing and if he has any chance of meeting his targets.
Parents went in for a freelander and came out with a brand new Vogue off the show room floor and 'saved' more than i'm thinking of spending on a low mileage TD6/4.4 L322
(not sure whats madder the discount or the prices of second hand ones)
people like this have no chance

especially when '07 cars start at £30k
TDV8
welshbikerduck - sorry i couldn't do a deal with you, but looks like your still happy

I saw that advert and thought its a lovely looking car just what im looking for , but at that price not, Im having more trouble that I thought finding the car I want, with so many on offer I thought it would be an easy job but none appear to be exactly meeting my criteria on spec and or price.
There are big differences on spec, not every TDV8 is the same. You have the HSE, Vogue and Vogue SE, Autobiography can mean everything but equally it can mean nothing. Also the 06 model is the TD6. TDV8 is for MY07, tho they can be had on a 56 plate. The price between the TD6 and the TDV8 is quite large too.
As someone has already said, it really depends on the dealer and what they need for the sale. They may even sell the car at a loss if bonus is a factor to their sales. We are in the middle of a credit crunch, large cars are just not selling as not many people are buying, added to that those that want to buy can't get the finance. So it all adds up to very bad news for the dealers but very good news for buyers. Bargains are to be had, but be realistic is the order of the day i guess.

I like Hunters in Derby. Bought my Disco 3 from them. The car was well priced and they did haggle.
A friend of mine has had two Freelanders over recent years (He's gone all Jap and bought a Lexus now!)He lived in West London, and worked in Reading - very close to the LR main dealer.
After a couple of services, he decided to combine his Freelander servicing with his trips back to Derby, as he rated Hunters far higher than other LR main dealers that he had used.
