Hi All
I've just aquired a 4.6HSE for the missus and we love it, but we have a few electrical niggles,
and wondered if anyone has any diy fixes for them.
1. the LCD heater display works intermittantly
2. Alarm fault on dash is displayed when you put the key in
3. cruise control doesnt work on the steering wheel(with motorway button pressed)

also i'm loosing water but cant find any leak, the cooling system is pressurised when cold,
no water from exhaust, no mayo in oil filler cap, no damp carpets???

Any help much appreciated

New LCD screen for the HEVAC is around £190.The alarm fault is probably at the end of the alarm unit.Corroded connections can cause this. For the cruise control, then check the vacum pipe. This tends to degarade over time.Check the pipe from the bellows.A cheap simple fix this one.

The losing water one as David Beer says could be a nasty one, but could also be relatively nothing - I would get a decent indy to give it the once over.

Eletrical niggles are notorious especially on earlier P38s

Cruise as has been mentioned is 99% to be the vacuum pipes - open the bonnet, at the back right hand side corner as you stand in front of the car, you will see the tubes that control the cruise - they are likely to be perished, and this will be causing the problem...... simple and cheap to fix.
