In this months issue of Landrover Owner International an astonishing claim!

I will be interested to see what the magazine says when it get's around to testing the system in a Landrover.
I am seriously thinking of an LPG for my 4.4 Vogue, but I may just hang on for a while now until I see any positive results.

It does actually work
As in the system will produce hydrogen and supplement whatever fuel you currently use.
Running on water or a 50% reduction in fuel costs is a little optomistic though.
A mate of mine has been tinkering with it for a few months and has seen a 10-15% improvement in economy.
Thats an awful long way off the claims of this manufacturer but to be fair he hasn't tried using anything like the 6 cells the qoute.

I have been activele researching fuel cells like this for nearly a year now but have not actually bought a kit and tried it. My take on it is that they will produce Browns Gas, which is combustible, and therefore when mixed with the main source of fuel, it will produce a saving. The question is just how much of a saving?
There are a couple of guys selling kits on ebay, one of which produced a very home-made looking cell which was fashioned out of what looked like clear perspex. He later changed to a better looking square cell which was black and now he seems to have disappeared from ebay altogther. He had a lot of positive feedback and no negatives, and the claims made by his customers were between 2-5% gain. Now that is still a tangible saving over a year, and if the kit can be put together for a couple of hundred quid then it's worth looking into IMO. My problem is that I am still looking into it a year later and have not yet taken the plunge
There is a device on ebay called an LPG Carburettor and it acts like an SU, with the vacuum lifting the needle valve which inturn allows more gas to enter the inlet manifold. This is the way to go because it can be adjusted to flow more or less Browns gas.
It would be interesting to hear others objective reasoning on this subject rather than just shouting snake-oil, I am sure there is a lot of snake oil in this industry, but is it possible to build a kit which actually produces a noticeable benefit? Let's see what we can find out and whether these kits can be of use. Any budding Chemists in the house that can support or deny Browns Gas actually working in an automotive scenario?
