Please keep your Defenders locked and alarmed at all times as there are a large number going missing close to Junction's 6,7,8 and 9 of the M25.

Have had the Police in this morning ref these thefts, also be aware you may be stoped for checks when out driving, so stay off the Babysham.

Three of our customers have lost there Defenders in the last couple of weeks with only one being found.

Keep your eyes peeled please.

Andy.

Dont take this the wrong way but you would be my first port of call if all 3 had used your place recently prior to going missing.

Maybe keep that in mind and expect the worse.

Sound like your saying this guy is involved.

This its a bit harsh if you dont know him. I think he is a garage and probally has lots of defenders going thought so 3 out of --- is nothing, defenders are being niced at a rate of nots.

You know what you have a point. idea

Defender theft + land rover garage + police visit + forum warning = confused

The only thing the OP is guilty off is giving a toss.

Maybe an apology is in oder? smash

Apologies, Tim. Pillock was not strong enough. You're a ****.

Know Andy, do you? No?

Go crawl back under your rock, cretin.

Many thanks for "ALL" your support, just goes to show that there are "SOME" very nice people using this forum.

As a result of all our help to the Police over these theft's they are now going in the right direction to apprehend (hopefully) the guilty one's.

Can you quantify that remark?

Proven examples of arse licking please.

Also, do you REALLY think that an established dealer would be making a post such as Andy's if they were genuinely involved at any level in the theft of a number of vehicles that they have an involvement in?

I dont actually know Andy so I feel I can give an unbiased view.

He is as guilty as sin. Only the other day I went passed his garage late at night and saw him rolling out a modified nucular rocket launching Defender with a "I love Iran" sticker on it, closely followed by a bullet proof armoured disco with signwriting all over that said, and I quote "Osama Bin Laden - World Tour 2009". When I looked a little closer I could clearly see George Michael "paying" for a service on his Rangie.

All very dodgy I think.

Call Centre employee of the month, perhaps?

Oh, lets leave Timmy alone. He's only just turned 21 and is finding life in Glasgow a bit dull, so comes on here to stir things up a tad (heck ,don't we all sometimes? biggrin )

BTW, Andy, will be giving you a call about your latest haul. I hear that oil tanker you 'borrowed' made you a bit of extra cash?biglaugh

In defence of this chap, and not knowing anyone involved in this thread and hoping not to offend anyone, and apologies in advance if I do:

But, if a specific model of car were in demand, let's say for export to the Middle East (which is where much overseas demand for 4x4s originates) and if I was in the line of business in supplying this demand, then I would have 2 options:

1: Drive around for weeks and weeks looking on drive ways for the model of car, or finding them on the street and following them home etc.

or

2: Go straight to the garage which services all these models in a specific area and 'acquire' the residential details in one go.

The latter certainly must be far from uncommon and I am sure that all good dealers go to good lengths to keep their customer details completely private and confidential but at the end of the day if someone wants that list badly anough and there is enough money in it then there is not a lot they can do to prevent a database being hacked or a window prized open.

The police will know the stats. If most of these cars have been lifted while out and about that's one thing but if they are being lifted off driveways/residential addresses, and they are new/expensive cars then it is very likely that someone has aquired a 'shopping list'. Find the database all cars have in common and you have the most probable source.

So much so we gave it all away as we had run out of buckets.

How are you getting on with your hunt for a Defender ?

hehehe...

Going to look at a possible contender tomorrow :-) Can't wait! I've been showing the Mrs vids off Youtube with madmen in their Defenders...she's a little concerned now, but only as she'll be the passenger!
