Has anyone had this? Disco 2 stutters.....
Discussion
Has anyone had this happen in their Disco 2 ? It is slow to start, but invariably it does. Once running all is well, until, you slow down, and then it cuts out. Pump stops, engine dies and thats it. It wont re start for about 20 Mins.
So far, changed the pump, but it seems that somewhere the pressure is dropping - is this something others have seen or heard of?

You don't say which engine. Assuming TD5, have you checked if there is oil in the wiring loom between the injectors and the ECU? Disconnect the plug at the front of the cylinder head or the red plug from the ECU and check if either is oily. This is common (especially on the earlier TD5s but also some later ones) and the cure is to replace the loom that runs through the head at the cost of £40 for the parts. Hopefully it hasn't contaminated the ECU but it and the red plug can usually be cleaned up weekly with contact cleaner (from Maplin) until the oil gradually works its way out.
I seem to remember that another possibility (on Defenders at least which share the same engine and electrics) is the yellow relay which may not be connecting properly or becoming US.
And if it is the TD5 then you could try to find someone with a Nanocom diagnostic computer. (Or buy one for £230 if you are going to keep it for a while.)
