New ignition timing map for LPG in Thor P38?
Discussion
I am seriously considering a gas conversion on my 2001 P38, and it would make much more sense if I could optimise the timing for LPG so it didn't lose as much economy. (I may increase the compression ratio too at some point and use super unleaded and LPG as fuels)
Is there an "easy" way of getting 2 switchable ignition timing maps in a Bosch ECU from a P38? It's not beyond me to make a daughterboard with 2 PROMs to go into the ECU if it's the sort which still had PROMs instead of the more modern flash ROM.
I knew the RR wouldn't stay standard for long...
Thanks

I've been reading this site:

Which has quite a bit of info, although more aligned to prince of darkness. Pitty that we have different setups, because between us I reckon we could of cracked it. I'm just a bit loathed to start messing around with mine as its working fine at the moment and dont want to pay someone to reset it in testbook if i mess it up.
Once the you can get an aftermarket ECU talking to the BECM, forced induction or engine swaps become possible.
edit:
Just had a thought
- purchase a spare BECM of ebay and use that for testing. That way I can always plug the old BECM and Corresponding ECU and it will be all happy again.
I wonder if you could do the same by using a non CAN[bosch] BECM - which I think is far easier to interface to a aftermarket ECU becuase it uses a line for each signal.
