I bought a 57 RR Supercharged today. There is a nick on a couple of the black piano wood trims. Dealer said I need to buy a whole new set of trims to replace just two. I did not want to believe him. He said he will try to refurbish it but cannot guarantee results.

My question is

- Is there a shop which can simply replace these for me?

- Is refurbishing lacquer a tried and tested process?

This is an approved used car on 15k miles. Shall I press for the dealer to replace the part?

I would have thought that a couple of scratches to interior trim is fair wear and tear on a 15k, 2 year old car. Good luck but I wouldn't hold out for much.
Im just looking to replace these if I can find the parts and the person to do so..

Im sure the trims are available individually. Maybe worth having a chat with a different dealer's parts dept?

Other than that, you'll have to look at specialist wood refurbers who will pobably strip the laquer back and respray...not particularly cheap either.

You can buy them individually. Try another dealer/parts dept.
