Range Rover Brake Callipers
Discussion
For any of you that own a 2002 onwards Range Rover, should you need to replace your rear callipers, there is a general shortage of them. No new ones are available from any dealer or Land Rover. One of my rear callipers has siezed, and I have discovered the hard way that there are none available.
I eventually sourced a used one from a breaker, using an internet search. Considering that a new one is a very reasonable £82.00, I was somewhat appalled to find that the pads are £85.00!!!
The used one cost me £65.00. However, another breaker called and tried to sting me for £150.00, as he knew full well that he "had me over a barrel". I told him where to stick it. (NOT there!).
The upshot of this is the obvious conclusion need to be drawn that there is an ongoing problem with these callipers. Be warned!
