Friend's neighbour was getting impatient yesterday trying to get at the wiper motor on hi '93 Range Rover due to the wipers being slow.

He had part removed the dash and showed me the location of the wiper motor and said according to the Haynes manual that you also need to remove the bonnet and panel ahead of the acreen to get to the securing nuts.

Surely there is an easier way?

The wiper motor sits under the scuttle panel.

so there was no need for him to rip out the dash from the inside then?

No. Once pulling the scuttle off you will see the motor sitting there.
