Wonky fuel guage on 2006 MY Vogue .................

help

filled up yesterday and have driven 100 miles since - but today fuel gauge dropped suddenly to zero and range is now reading as zero too !!! - but plenty of fuel left in the tank.

is this a common problem or am I just unlucky - will the standard " disconnect battery for 10 mins" trick solve ??


any other suggestions ???
