Anyone got an LT77 gearbox forsale?

Hi All

On a recent trip to France my 1990 200Tdi Defender 90's gearbox locked up. I can select gear but there is no way the Landrover is budging an inch.

Figure it's not worth the time or money investigating the issue and might as well get on a find a replacement.

I'm located in Bournemouth and want a recon or 2nd hand unit if poss. Let me know what you have.

If it's a selector failure that would leave one gear selected all the time so it will drive in 'neutral' and also if you select the gear that is stuck, but it will lock up solid if you select any other gear. If that's the problem it would be relatively cheap to fix (couple of hundred quid I would guess). Perhaps cheaper than a new 'box?

Thanks for responding to the thread.

The gear lever will select all gears in the box. There is a binding noise coming from the box when you release the clutch if a gear has been selected. The vehicle tries to move forward but just seems to judder and the binding noise (sort of knocking really) continues.

Obviously, have tried this much as it doesn't sound too great.

Ah, sounds like you need a new one then.
