Bugger me!!!
We went on Saturday and it was lovely and dry!!
They are taking the piss a bit with the price thought. I likewise remember paying £10 per car and seeing 12 people getting out of a 110!! That way it got more people into the show and spending.
The most annoying thing was that just after I'd paid, my mate phoned me from inside the show and he'd got some spere free tickets - doh!!!

The pics are from 2007 adverse weather conditions bad management and a show ground that turned to mud ask the trade an it was a good trading year !
2006 the year the hurricane hit and trees where blown over (anyone remember trail masters 110) there where tents and landys blown into the dykes around Billing
2009 the trade loved it the visitors loved it and it was a resounding success according to other forums
2010 will be the 20th anniversary of billing I’ve been to Billing for 14 of those and I am looking forward to next years.
In the 19 shows that have been held at billing there are bound to be few whappy years its a bit like the reason we drive our landrovers!
2007 was 1 year in 19 years of landrovers history

I noticed the date on the photos just after I'd posted my listing!! It was pretty wet locally on Sunday so I don't know how well Billing fared.2006 the year the hurricane hit and trees where blown over (anyone remember trail masters 110) there where tents and landys blown into the dykes around Billing

Apparently Newark was not such a success and I heard stories of traders packing up on the Friday and driving down to Billing!
Billing's always been a good show and it's local which helps. I normally rely on buying bits cheap enough to save my postage - but when it coast £28 for 2 adults to get in (we thankfully didn't take the kids - they get bored and it's expensive for them) this obliterates the savings in postage.
I used to go to Billing religiously, it was the first thing in my diary each year.
But after the LRO/LRM fallout, or whatever happened, things started to change and it began to become just like any other 'Country Fair' with Land Rover stuff thrown into the mix. So I stopped going for a couple of years.
Last year I went again, this time on my own (I used to drag the Mrs along to search for stuff at the salvage stands
) to pick up a load space chest that would have been very difficult to sort out in the post.
It seemed better but it probably says a lot that I planned the day out, and took lunch with me, but by lunchtime I'd seen what I needed to and went and bought the stuff I'd 'earmarked' and left early.
I can't remember the price to get in then but remember thinking it was a tad expensive, especially for a 'sellers' show but as I was on my own I didn't take a lot of notice.
I also remember the £10/car days, so what was the gate price this year?

£14 audults / £7 kids. Would of cost me £35 to get in, as the youngest was free. I used take the family leave them to play on the funfair and I would wonder around the show. This year I arrived at the gate, saw the price and went home. If I was on my own I would of paid as the dakar consumes more than £14 in fuel driving from Milton Keynes.I went for the first time and wasn't really impressed. As a place to get a part or accessory that's too big to post then it's great but as a family day out I would say it's not that good. Like walking round a car park for them (not me though!) with no interesting shows in the arena really. Far too expensive for a family day out too.
