Hi,

The fuel pump on my TD5 has started making a noise like I'm being constantly chased by hundreds of electric bees- anyone know what this means, or is likely to be?

By the way, I've checked. It's not electric bees. Shame.

Thanks in advance,
N.

ok, due to the overwhelming respnse to this thread, I've read around and am now led to believe that this might be the filter, rather than the pump.

However, I'm told there's two- anyone lend me hand to locate them?

There is no fuel filter in the engine bay on a TD5.

Most likely cause of your pump whining is that the fuel pressure regulator has failed or is leaking fuel.

Check for fuel leaking onto the starter from the rh rear of the cylinder head.
