I have been given first refusal on a mint Discovery 300 Tdi. FSH and huge sums spent on it. It sparkles.

Is it a practical proposition to have air-con fitted?

Someone recently told me that Paddocks (or similar) do kits for around £500 plus fitting. Or you could use a donor vehicle with aircon and salvage all the parts.

There would be a shedload of work fitting aircon, so before you do so just make sure the disco really is mint

On top of the usual mechanical and exterior bodywork, are the :-
Inner wings solid?
Sills solid?
Rear crossmember solid?
Rear floor not rusting through?

I have a 300 tdi Disco with A/C that we are breaking, £200.00 you take it off and then you know how it goes back together, we have 15 Disco's for spares at the moment.
