HI

bought a lovely range rover classic 2 days ago only problem is drivers electric seat adjust doesnt work. Is it worth me listing the symptoms on here? or can anyone recommend a good technical landy forum to ask on.

i've searched the net for several hours already and not come up with much to go on

cheers for that link unfortunatly I do not think that is the answer because here are the symptoms:

-passenger seat operates as it should
-drivers seat responds to no button inputs
-when back/forward button is operated is moves the wing mirror glass
-when the switches are operated the relays under the seats can be heard to click

Hmmm - I'm not a Classic man, but my first thoughts would be to see if 12V appears at the relative motors (seeing if the motors are faulty) - but with you saying that one of the seat switches moves the mirror glass, then it may be a little more tricky than that!

There is an active forum on the RangeRovers.net site, specifically for Classics

Might be worth searching through there, or asking a new question?

ETA: Ten seconds of searching that forum turned this up:

Depending on how competent you are with electrics and a multimeter, it would be worth getting the RAVE manual for the Classic

The seat and mirror positions can be set in a memory and are controlled by the same ECU . There may be a fault or just a bad earth on that (under one of the seats)

This is quite a well known problem on classics that have been laid up for a while, probably caused by condenstaion.
