It does look very nice and yes the interior is far nicer and that new 3.0ltr engine would be fabulous, but it doesn't offer anymore than my current car, so won't be changing my Disco for one. The Sport on the other hand is the biz.....

So would you say the disco 4 offers little over the disco 3?

I saw one of these on the M42 yesterday. I didn't know they were so new.
They have LEDs around the entire front light units which makes them look huge in your mirrors which is why I spotted it. Can't say I know Discos well enough to have noticed the differences vs disco 3 though. Sorry.

Oh, it does say Discovery 4 on the back getmecoat

Apart from, fresh styling, a brand new interior. New more powerful, fuel efficient engine and a small price increase. No, nothing over the disco3 smile

I've just ordered one based on a weekend loan of an HSE. We've gone for an XS 3 litre V6 diesel with a couple of options. I have to say it was much nicer than my mates 2.7 Disco 3. Lovely interior and much nippier. Looking forward to delivery!

Hi

I too read the brochure.

Triple7 mentioned the new car offers little over his current car, a Disco 3. I thought he might elaborate on that hence my comment.

OK I shall. The new D4 is an awesome car, if I was going to spend new money on a 7 seater family uber wagon, it would be one of these for sure. However, I did that a couple of years ago on my D3 HSE. For me personally, the new D4 isn't worth me spending another £20k on. Yes the new 3.0 TDV6 engine is far better than my 2.7 and the interior is much nicer and it looks far sexier, but that's not worth spending the extra cash, as my D3 is still excellent.

Would I spend £25k on a 2 year old one or £50k on a 2010MY, well the former. If I was looking at a new XC90, or X5 it would be the D4 everytime............

I think that about hits the nail on the head. If I already owned a 3, I wouldn't change it (unless it needed changing of course) for a 4. But being in the market for a new Disco, the 4 is better and worth the extra outlay (to me, at least.

I'm in the market for a 7-seater family 'ueberwagon' and drove the D4 3.0l diesel today with HSE spec, and then took out an 2.7l D HSE 3 after that. The D4 engine is much nicer, smoother, gives the vehicle more 'go' and up at motorway speeds has plenty left. The interior is nicer but then I don't think that was an issue in the D3.

I think I'm going to wait for the D4 to drop so I can get an XS one...
