Auxiliary Heating
Discussion
I am in the throws of upgrading my Disco 2 to a 2006 Range Rover Vogue TD6 (Yes I know all about the V8 vs TD6 !! ) I know Auxiliary Heating was an option. What I need to know is if it is really worth having (I do lots of ski trips in the car) and can it be retro fitted, and at what cost. I have read that on the RRS and D3 they both have a fuel burning heater as standard fit as the engine efficiency is so good (not mpg)that they do not create enough heat for a standard heater matrix. I have found an ideal car but it doesn't have this option and I do like toys :-)

I've a D3 & the FBH is there to warm up the engine when air temp is 5C or lower, however it can be fitted with a timer to fire it up & circulate heated water through the engine & heater matrix.
Given the RRS has the same engine then the same mod should also be possible; you could even go one better & fit a GSM module that fires it up when it receives a text from you.

Different engine - you have the TD V6 in the Disco3, a Jag/Ford engine, the Rangie had the TD6 which is a straight six.Given the RRS has the same engine then the same mod should also be possible; you could even go one better & fit a GSM module that fires it up when it receives a text from you.
