Guys,

Currently got a Vantage V8 however the other half has decided to get a dog.
No i am a bit stuck as there is no way its going in my car.

I have currently got a Range Rover Supercharged as a load car whilst mine is in for repair and must say i am loving it!
Are there any known issues with these and what do you owners think of them?
Also anyone looking to get rid of theres in the next few months?????

I've had one for about 6 months.... no major probs other than exhaust sensor and sticking handbrake.
I've heard that can be prone to air suspension faults, I love mine apart from the mpg/range!

How big is the dog? Not much headroom in the boot of the sport as the rear window is steeply raked etc.

Other than that, it's one sweet ride. New model just released, far superior......

Cheers guys for the responses.

What is your average MPG, i am currently getting around 13MPG?
Its a Dogue De Bordeaux so once grown it will be a monster. As its a 3rd ish car wasnt looking for a new one, was thinking around the £20-25K mark.
Ideally looking for a grey with cream leather and quite loaded is possible within my budget.

I get about 15.7 around town, less than 10 if i gun it....
One dogue will be fine, but no more (my mate has three & had to get a van with bespoke cages to take them out)
The boot is more suited to dogs than the full fat. The window opens for the dog to get air & the tailgate doesnt stop them getting in...
Fantastic as the new SC is, the cost difference is just stupid, local dealer quoted £79K for one!

P.S Fantastic animals, if i ever have enough room for two, bordeauxs are what i'm getting!

Ouch 79K, thats allot of money for not allot of car compared to others on the market.
The Bordeauxs are lovely, especially when they are only 6 weeks old!
Thanks for the advice

Any Supercharged RRS will come pretty much fully loaded as standard, for your budget you will struggle to find a reasonable mileage/condition one, and would be an 05 model.

Had mine, a diesel though, for two years now, reliability hasn't been too bad. But have had a few issues, all covered by the warranty. Even the diesel is a good drive, more of a cruiser than the S/C though.

Get the full fat version. Does everything the Sport does with a lot more class.

15mpg is about par for the course.

I had a Supercharged Sport for 6 months and carried two Belgian Shepherds in it, so one Dogue de Bordeaux should be OK, but a full-size Range Rover might be better if you're not worried about body roll on fast cornering!

They all come fully equipped - only factory options are sunroof and rear DVD / screens. You might struggle to get one in your colour choice for sub-£25,000 - unless it's a higher mileage one. I averaged 14 mpg overall, but 17-18 on a long run, 12 around town.

If you think you may get another DDB at some stage, why not pick up a 4.4 V8 HSE Discovery instead? Only one and a bit seconds slower to 60, just 5" longer, same interior technology (premium sat-nav, bluetooth, voice activation, etc) and acres of space for big dogs... You would get a nice low mileage one for £25,000 and you also get 7 seats for the occasional 'designated driver' evening wink

Had ours for about 18 months now and love it. 13mpg is about right, can get it under 10 easily.

No faults with mine apart from a software glitch putting on the engine management light. Had a full fat TDV8 for a week - horrible wallowy thing in comparison, which is both good because I was thinking about getting a full fat next (petrol) and bad because I was thinking about getting a full fat......

Would I get another? The alternatives being an X5, Landcruiser, or ????? - Yes probably, but I would test drive the others first. It wouldn't be a done deal.

Had one for last 3 years, loved the car, plenty of room for 2 retrievers in the back but still fun to drive. Bad day 12mpg (less than 10 with a loaded horse trailer on the back but at least we could set the cruise at 60 and it would keep that speed.) good day 20mpg on a motorway well within the limit.

2000 miles on a trip to s of france fully loaded this summer averaged about 16mpg.

Have just swapped it for an A6 allroad due to change in work now doing 600 miles a week, but replace it with a new 5.0s/c next year as soon as there are a few ex demo cars available.
