Best 90 TDi engine?

Hi all, just thinking about popping a toe back into the world of Landy's and rather than another series car I am thinking about a 90 d.

Now never having owned a oil fired Land rover because the old ones were a bit grim I am unsure what the general thoughts are on which of the 90 motors are best, my limit on funds will be about 6K as I want to use it properly and any more and I will wince every time a knock it!
