Classic RR - Auto Gearbox Question

My ‘94 classic Range Rover has (intermittently) started to not want to select reverse gear (Auto Box). As I said it’s not very often at the moment but enough to may me wonder if it’s going to be a problem that needs nipping in the bud. Any ideas? You shift from Drive, through Neutral to Reverse and it’s like it’s still in Neutral. No drive in either direction. Into Park and back to reverse normally cures it but one occasion I had to do this a couple of times before it bit.
I hoping it’s an electrical issue….
