Afternoon all. Thinking about a Rangie again an have seen an L322 Vogue SE Supercharged which is interesting, belongs to someone I know, so I have reasonable history on it.
Checking a few reviews though, and
Any other biggies to watch out for? Is there a buyer's guide?
Thanks.

Front diff life is typically 40k - 60k miles, costs £4,000 to replace.
Instrument pack tends to last around 70k miles, costs £1,200 too replace.
Transmission usually lasts about 100k miles, costs £6,000 to replace.
Are those realistic facts? The one I'm looking at is on 48k and I don't fancy weighing out another four grand any time soon if I buy it.Instrument pack tends to last around 70k miles, costs £1,200 too replace.

I'm not an L322 owner (I'm still on a P38!) but I think the "short life of the Front Diff" issue was resolved by a recall.
Lots of articles on FullFatRR about the gearbox being "sealed for life", and if you factor in an independant service agent replacing the oil in the gearbox, then the life of it should be considerably extended.

Double check this, but the diff thing was sorted by the time Supercharged came out. In any event, it was a free upgrade on the TD6 and 4.4s.
As above, change oil on gearbox and do not consider it as "sealed for life".
Do you mean the pixels going on panel? I don't think it is any where near as expensive as that to fix.

Front diff life is typically 40k - 60k miles, costs £4,000 to replace - Resolved With Recall
Instrument pack tends to last around 70k miles, costs £1,200 too replace - Not in all cases, just keep your fingers crossed I guess!
Transmission usually lasts about 100k miles, costs £6,000 to replace - Only if transmission oil is not changed.

Great, thanks, I like the look of the one I've seen but need to shift the Monaro first!
Has it been that long since you got the Monaro? I remember you from the Fiat Coupé site, and seeing you around Groombridge some years back in your 20VT - Mine was the Sprint blue one.Go for S/C - I love mine

I still have mine. Was fully refurbed/restored about 18 months ago and now lives in a nice dry garage for sunny days only. It's in amazing condition now, very pleased with it.
I do fancy a s/c Rangie - friend of mine is selling one, but we're also about to move house so it's slightly out of budget for the short term.
