This looks like a decent example, I only need it for taking the grass cuttings to the tip that kind of things. Chuck the kids in it from time to time fro a trip to the zoo.

Are there any known issues or things I should be aware of at all?

Thanks

Its a V8. So a good start there. Just make sure that the service history is full and that there has been no skipped oil changes. Clatery top end would indicate infrequent servicing.

I have just bought my Range Rover from that dealer and they are a fantastic bunch to deal with - seem very keen to sort out any niggles, even once I have collected the car.

Looks like a lot of car for the money and if you aren't doing many miles, the V8 lump does sound fantastic!

Just check everything works (electrical, low range, etc.) really and general condition and that it drives straight.

Also ask about the air suspension, as in does it leak and do they cover it in their warranty.

If it has a leaky air bag or pipe for the suspension the compressor will run at full tilt until it breaks.

Check the wheel bearing all of them the bearing are sealed in the hub and to replace its a brand new hub at around £300, if the bearing is going this can push the abs sensors out and cause the dashboard to flash up like a christmas tree. Check for mayo in filler cap or any black gunge if possible pull on of the rocker covers and check for gunge there to V8's love long runs if used to much around town they can gum up even if you keep to the service schedule. On high milers the timing chain can stretch and the cam lobes wear down it will carry on for ever but will have lost that performance edge costing as much as 50 or 60bhp. Check the coolant level take for spin and check again you do get slipped liner and porous block problems tho not as bad as the 4.6. Other than that general wear and tear clucky gearboxs best avoided lose bushes causing sloppy handling, and as mentioned the airbags as any leaks will knacker the pump and also the pump has a little air filter on it check it for crap it often gets missed. Its against the chassis rails on drivers side i think and if it has ACE check that works it should corner pretty flat check theres no leaks there either.

Check if it has air suspension in the first place. It was standard on the ES. An option on the GS.
