Hi guys.

I have just being getting insurance quotes for my 90 and Adrian Flux are asking about £80 more than Footman James but say they cover off-road use. FJ say they don't (and possibly won't cover me at all if I say i do go off-road).

The thing is, when I'm doing play-days, I'm unlikely to claim anyway as any dents etc are just put own to experience, and I would assume that third perty liability would be covered by the organisers of the play day.

I am also a member of a local off-road club and all club activities are covered by club rules and insurance.

Green Lanes are public roads anyway so would be insured under the standard policy.

My thought is that the exrta £80 is worth is for the peace of mind - but my other thought is that £80 is £80!!

Can I have your opinons either way please to help me make my decision.

Thanks.

How much is the car worth?

If we are talking £3k+ I'd do it, if not I wouldn't bother. I don't insure my £2k BMW for track days (which are arguably more dangerous then off-roading) or my LR for off-roading as in both cases it's not worth it, after excess I would get very little back.

I'd check the small print of the off road cover as greenlanes are public highways and you would be covered anyway
