Hi guys,
so on average a full tank of petrol in a 2a/3 is about £55 and i was just wondering how many miles you can get on this?

Petrol or diesel? SWB or LWB? With overdrive or without?

Factory quotes a 109 6 cylinder petrol as 14mpg, a SWB 4 cylinder diesel as 30mpg...so anywhere between 150 and 300ish I guess.

if you really want to know this stuff this book:

will tell you everything you want to know.

I'd have said 30 seems a bit optomistic, even for an 88 diesel. More like 20-24mpg for the diesel and 15-20mpg for the petrol on road and far worse off road.

I would suggest if it's a diesel engine and the OP has a tank of petrol he's not going to get very far wink

I'd work on 15mpg, use a light right foot and cross your fingers.

Well lately, this is with different ratio diffs, larger that standard wheels and an SU carb, I've been getting to just about the end of my road on tank... well ok, further than that but not very far at all, maybe 120miles if I'm lucky.

Offroad you won't get anywhere near that, but the progress will be that much more satisfying that you just won't care biggrin .

put it this way- you can get better mpg from a stage 1 v8 than a 2.25 series 2!!!!!
