TD4 Remap in the North East?
Discussion
Hi
I'm considering having our 54 plate Freelander TD4 Sport re-mapped to release some of the GGs that are undoubtedly there.
Recently replaced the intercooler hoses for silicone which made quite a difference, and I'm now thinking a remap will also help.
Not looking for wild performace gains, just a few more horses/torque for towing, smoother pull away and a little mpg improvement....all of which I have read are achievable with a remap.
Just looking for recommendations of reputable outfits really, and I'mm looking for a rempa rather than a tuning box.
Cheers
Andy

Hi, i have a 04 SE with a twisted performance remap on. it has just ticked over 52k on the clock.
They claim it now has 157bhp and over 300lbft of torque. It is certainly faster than standard but im not sure if the figures are true, im looking to get it on a rolling road to see whats what.
The remap has moved where the turbo kickes in from 1750 to 2100-2250rpm. There is a bit of lag before it kickes in and when it does there is a small puff of black smoke if your "flooring" it.
Fuel economy seems unchanged really, i still get 430-480miles from a tank, i do mostly town driving though with 30 miles of motorway to see the girlfriend.
WHen i first got my map, the car would briefly light up the amber engine warning light if i held a heavy foot for over 10 seconds, this soon stopped though.
Im also running blue silicon uprated hoses as the remap and oil contamination soon split my originals
I find it good for keeping tabs on motorway traffic, certainly fun with charging away from tailgaters and you leave a smoke screen in doing so.
My remap was £400 and this inc a k&n air filter as well.
Hope this is useful. Any other questions feel free to ask.
