Our Disco 3 is at the dealer for the fifth time since Christmas, with the same suspension fault.

Each time my wife has been stranded at the roadside with a barely driveable car. I can vouch for this having recovered it from the A14 last time, followed by an AA truck at 15mph with the rear suspension on full off road setting and the front on the bump stops.

Has anyone else experienced these problems?

We moved from the dealer in Northampton after their second attempt at a fix, my wife got 2 miles down the A45 and the fault recurred; when she returned to the dealer the service manager told her they had no courtesy car, and told her she would have to drive off again, "break down" and call FR Assist. Nice. Peterborough are now on their third attempt since Feb. Each visit's at least a week.

It's an '07 Pursuit, which I think is HS or SE equivalent. Was in warranty when the fault first came up, but we've extended the warranty anyway.

We're getting close to giving up, you don't expect this level of unreliability in what's marketed as a robust, get you anywhere vehicle. Any advice would be welcomed.

Change the dealer, not the car.

Try speaking to Rockingham Land Rover to see if they can do warranty work. They are a family business so will give you a little more TLC. Most of our local Land Rover club (ENLROC) use them for parts, servicing and repair.

We did swap dealers. The one we're with now is much better than the previous, but it has still been frustrating.

It's back again today and we've been assured that it has been fixed with a sensor replacement that was routine for cars within a few chassis numbers of ours.

It's a shame because when it works, the car is great.

Anyway keep your fingers crossed because we're off to Norfolk tomorrow in it...

Thanks cpas for the advice, if the fault happens again (and I wouldn't bet against it), I might be in touch.

OK mate.

It's frustrating when you buy a top spec car and end up with loads of problems. It's nore frustrating when the dealers won't play ball.

Had a similar fault on a 2008 RRS TDV8 which scared the life out of me.

80mph outside land and the suspension drops to the floor and all the lights come on and the power goes off !!!

I sent the car back

Not helpfull I am afraid but I can sympathise.

Well a little while on and we've done a fully loaded trip to Morfolk and back and a few more miles beside, and it seems fixed for now.

Lovely car, I just wish it hadn't thrown the wobbler. It does knock your confidence a little.

Cheers, I'll do that.

I'm actually starting to like the car again now.
