Land Rover club London
Discussion
Where do you live?
Land Rover clubs tend to fall into two categories - The anoraks and the wreckers.
The anoraks usually have a caravan, have a club hierarchy that is out of the middle ages and can be quite difficult to gel with.
The wreckers go to every pay and play day possible, plus a few green lanes, and see how much damage they can sustain and still get home.
There's probably enough London based PH Land Rover people kicking around to set up your own club.
Something nice and informal, say once a month at a different drinking venue.
I'd stick my name down -

any other takers?

I lol'd there.
I think I'll try and find an anorak club tho. I quite like the idea of sitting next to the LSE with a cup of tea in hand discussing the different power outputs everyone now has from their V8 and then not revving the engine above 3K lest it remove value. Squatting, toothbrush in one hand, original owners manual in the other trying to get the detailing inside and out equivalent to the day it came out of the factory! Climbing the social ladder in the knowledge that one day, perhaps 30/40 years from now I might be a club representative and could then set up formal gatherings in town halls to discuss tread depth limitations and where I can get hold of an NOS Clarion stereo...
Nah! I think I'll just go to the pub

I'm living in Fulham atm, but leaving soon due to eviction (this might work well for insurance). Seems to be one place where the 4x4 abilities are actually necessary due to the abundance of speed bumps; looking out my window I can see 6 sets! Always funny hearing Fezzas scraping ever so slowly over then to rev up to speed, to stop, to scrap over another.
Hopefully picking her up today or tomorrow, can't wait. It's had some work by DJE (Rover v8 racing specialist) so faster and louder than usual!

My Landy shares the street with two 110 crew cabs, and there's a 101, SIII and two other defenders on neighbouring streets.
Lack of a normal car at home meant that I used the Landy for a 130 mile round trip for a meeting today. Could have done with fixing the windscreen wipers over the weekend though - They would have been useful on the M11 this morning!
Ah. Don't worry Craig.
I thought something may have happened with what you said, felt it best not to put any pressure on you, esp considering I knew you weren't thinking about selling for a few months. This just came along and was the first non-pup I saw so went for it!. Hope everything is well. Would be nice to see yours even so to see what upgrades need to be done!
LR Kings road cruse one day? Would be funny to shatter some windows with a bit of V8 henchness. lol
Thanks for the advice on clubs as well guys.

SAS CLASSIC? Bloody hell I'd love to see that!
Anyone on here with the SLSLRC? There is a nice 90 at the south end of Peterborough rd (Parsons Green) I cycle past each day on the work commute.
So, now to find a pub in London that can house a load of Landy's
The Dysart Arms is the only place I can think of with the space, but possibly out of the way for some...

So it looks like it might be the first P.H landrover meet.
Any venue suggestions? And are you going to the War and Peace show at Hop Farm? (must be your sort of show!) My cousin will be there doing the photography.
