Will a 200 tdi gearbox fit a 300tdi?

Personally I dont think it will but can anyone tell me how different are they as a friend blow his box up on his 300 at the weekend but has been given a 200 box?

I think it might if you swap the bell-housing over. Not sure if the gear sticks are in he right place where they come thought the floor though!

Nope. 200Tdi uses the LT77 box.

It is possible to make it fit, (well I'm sure it is), but it won't just bolt on. They need to find an R380 from a 300Tdi Landy I'm afraid. Well it's the easiest option anyhow.

Pretty sure you can conversion plates but it would be easier to find an r380.

It was a R380 box and the 200 box he had was the LT77 but i think some of the later 200s might of been fitted with R380 so told him to try and get the bellhousing for the 200 and see if that might work.

LT77 and R380 from both Tdi are interchangeable. You only need change the handbrake and speedo housing over; handbrake release is different and speedo is electronic sender on R380.

I've done it in both directions....if you see what I mean.
