As it is derived from the V8 that came in them anyway it shouldnt be a huge issue:

Not sure to be honest 300.
As per my other landie thread at the moment, I'm on the look out for a v8 donor vehicle and there's a p38 for sale locally, mot failure but good engine and auto box.
I think carbs would be easiest. And I'll try to find an r380 box.
To be honest, a good-nick 3.5 would be just fine, I'm not looking for huge hp, just enough torque for pulling full loads up hills with ease and I'm a sucker for a Land Rover with v8 woofle...

what did it fail the mot on? many of the 4.6's are shagged, if it was any good - it would either be on the road or long gone.As per my other landie thread at the moment, I'm on the look out for a v8 donor vehicle and there's a p38 for sale locally, mot failure but good engine and auto box.
