Non LR Towbar and LR Warranty ?

Hi All,

I have an 08 Freelander, still under warranty, which I want to fit a towbar to.

LR can't fit a detachable to my model so if I get a towbar specialist to fit one
will this have any implications for the car's warranty ?

Would expect them to use it as a potential exclusion, should only be restricted to anything related to the non standard part fitted. Not the whole warranty.
Not sure what that would be with a non LR approved tow bar, drivetrain maybe??? Would it really affect any performance of the car.

Maybe more of an issue with insurance, it it's not approved for fitting to the car?

Have you asked your local LR dealer what removable tow bar they would recommend, the answer should be 'none'. But they may have a sensible non LR option.

Some LR Dealers have been known to fit quite a lot of non LR accessories.
