TDV8 Vogue Tailgate Issue

Hi just purchased a 2007 TDV8 Vogue and have to say its so much better that the Sport that I traded it in for....only one blot of the copybook so far and that is that I have an issue with the lower tailgate in that it will not open from the solenoid switch or manual levers...Has anyone else come across this issue before or have any easy fixes that is not going to need me having to take it to th dealers...any help would be very much appreciated..

They commonly stick, remove the catch using the two torque head bolts and give it a clean and a dose of wd40.
