Afternoon all,

I need to change the propshaft UJs on the OH's Freelander 1. Having removed the pitted OE joints I notice they're branded GKN.

Each UJ is around £50 + from Land Rover, and not much less from Rimmers etc.

I have found that the Land Rover Parts Shop (never used them before) sell OE, Hardy Spicer , and some horribly cheap aftermarket part. As shown here: LRPartsShop

I seem to remember that HS used to make OE stuff for Rover etc? Are they likely to be as good as the GKN OE stuff?

Thanks for any pointers on either the shop or parts,
Steve

You should have no problem with Hardy Spicer or GKN.

Thanks for that. I thought HS were good stuff - half the price of the GKN ones too!

Just so. If you measure the joints, or look hard enough on the net you will find the HS/GKN part numbers, mostly there is a heavy duty option too.

Should be @ £17 for an HD version.

Just make sure you order some with a grease nipple as there are some supplied as a sealed unit.
